Summer Ideas
Families, we wanted to share some things we love to do in San Diego over the summer. Feel free to send us an email at info@doylepta.org if you have things you want to share with our community as well!
We love exploring San Diego, here's some things you might not know about different free/discounted programs:
- San Diego Public Library has passes you can check out:
- passes you can check out to be able to enter California State Parks for FREE!
- You Visit attractions for FREE with the San Diego Public Library's Discover & Go program. The program offers family day passes to several of San Diego's biggest attractions, Passes can be reserved online, in-person or over the phone with a valid library card.
- Their reading program also has museum admissions as prizes for reading/doing activities
- Residents Free Tuesdays in Balboa Park (hint: go early, parking can be hard on those Tuesdays)
- 2021-22 4th Graders:
- The National Park Service allows those that were in the 4th grade in the 2021-22 school year to visit National Parks for FREE through August 31st, 2022 through their EVERY KID OUTDOORS PROGRAM
- The State of California has a similar program called the CALIFORNIA STATE PARK ADVENDTURE PASS. NOTE: not all state parks are included, parks that are included can be found HERE
